Under Porto´s Golden Light, a Memorable Welcome Event
Overlooking the picturesque Ribeira and the city of Porto, Gabi and Chad’s welcome dinner at the Yeatman Hotel in the Invicta City, Porto, set the stage for a truly unforgettable celebration.
The soft, golden light of the late afternoon bathed the venue, creating a serene atmosphere for guests to mingle and connect with the sound of a Portuguese guitar and a classical viola duo in the background.
Welcoming Guests with Stunning Views and Timeless Traditions
When Gabi and Chad booked their wedding in the North of Portugal, they envisioned more than just a single day of celebration. They wanted to create a full experience for their guests, starting with an welcome event at the 5-star Yeatman Hotel in Gaia, which offers one of the most iconic views of the Ribeira and Porto, with its breathtaking panoramic vistas of the Douro River and the beautiful Porto skyline. It was the perfect place to welcome their loved ones and set the mood for the upcoming celebrations.
One of the things we love about capturing weddings like Gabi and Chad's is that it’s never just about the big day. They were incredibly thoughtful about how they wanted to spend quality time with their loved ones throughout the entire weekend. The welcome event was a beautiful way for everyone to unwind, enjoy the local flavors, and take in the breathtaking views of Porto as the sun began to dip below the horizon. To make the evening even more special, they added a beautiful touch of Portuguese tradition with the sounds of a Portuguese guitar and classical viola duo, filling the air with music that perfectly complemented the stunning surroundings. And of course, no celebration in Porto is complete without the famous local wine!
And speaking of special touches, one of the most memorable moments for us was Gabi’s dress. It wasn’t just any dress, it was her mom’s wedding dress, carefully updated and reimagined for Gabi’s welcome party. It was such a personal and meaningful piece that tied together her family’s history with her own new chapter, making it even more special.
These moments, are what we absolutely love about documenting weddings. Whether it’s a welcome dinner, a poolside celebration, or a special family moment, these events add so much depth to the story. We’re always grateful to be a part of a couple’s journey and to help preserve those memories that last a lifetime.
